our newly created co-op engineering center allows you to surround yourself with engineering and prototyping resources so you can bring your ideas to life.

use our co-op engineering center to:

develop your skills in using various kinds of equipment
•    
create projects for your business or home use
•    
learn tips and tricks from on site engineers, instructors, and fellow adventurers
•    
design new ways to solve problems

whether you wish to work on your own with the equipment provided, or need assistance in learning the various features of each tool, we are here to assist. our facility provides onsite access to tools such as:

  • basic hand tools with each checked out workbench area: ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, tape measure, allen wrenches, pliers, cutters, strippers,
  • basic shop tools: miter saw, table saw, drill press, band saw, and bench grinder
  • electronics prototyping: soldering station, bread board, function generator, oscilloscope, low frequency spectrum analyzer, arbitrary function generator, dynamic signal analyzer, logic analyzer, and digital multimeter
  • dual boot laptops loaded with windows 7 and ubuntu linux. many preloaded cae software packages useful in the engineering development cycle such as spaceclaim cad, schematic capture, and analysis software, and integrated development environments for programming in various languages such as eclipse.   
  • cnc machine with 59" x, 43" y, and 37" z travel
  • mits eleven lab pcb milling machine and cam software station for prototyping 2 sided boards  
  • epilog legend 36ext laser cutting and engraving machine with 75w co2 Laser (COMING SOON)

co-op engineering hours
m - t: closed for courses
w - f:   3 pm - 9 pm
s - s: 10 am - 6 pm

membership & fees 
tinkerer    - $65 per month
maker      - $99 per month
engineer  - $150 per month
machine  - $25 per hour

tinkerer membership grants full facility access excluding cnc/pcb/laser machines. maker membership grants full facility access with 2 total hours for use with cnc/pcb/laser machines. engineer membership grants full facility access with 5 total hours for use with cnc/pcb/laser machines. membership grants %10 discount on products and courses. safety and machine courses excluded from discount. montly machine time does not roll over. we reserve the right to deny and revoke membership. membership is granted to members 18 years of age or older. first time members are required to complete a $50 per person training course before area access is granted. use of machines requires completion of specific machine training and safety course. currently cnc and pcb machine training course are $150 each.
